NANCY LAKE - SUSITNA TRAIL
I. Trail Location
The Nancy Lake - Susitna Trailhead Is Located in Southcentral Alaska,
At Mile 67 of the Parks Highway. From the South Shore of Nancy Lake
The Trail Heads Southwestward To Susitna Landing. the Route Is
Located in the USGS 1:63,360 Anchorage C-8 and Tyonek C-1 and C-2
Quadrangles and Is Approximately 26 Miles Long.
Ii. Historic Documentation
The Nancy-Susitna Trail Was Used Historically As A Winter Route
From Seward To Nome, Beginning at Mile 181 of the Alaska
Railroad. the Nancy-Susitna Trail Is, Included in Alaska Road
Commission (Arc) Documentation As Route 20h. the Route Is
Included in the 1973 Department of Transportation and Public
Facilities (DOT&PF) Trails Inventory On Map 69 (Anchorage
Quadrangle) As Trail #63, and On Map 70 (Tyonek Quadrangle) As
Trail #22.
