Houston - Willow Creek Trail
I. Trail Location
From the City of Houston, Milepost 57.5 of the Parks Highway,
The Trail Runs Southwestward Approximately 0.5 Miles, Crossing the
Parks Highway. the Trail Then Heads Northeastward, Crossing Deception
Creek and Continuing On To Willow Creek. the Trail Is Shown As A
Winter Trail/Sled Road On USGS 1:63,360 Anchorage C-8, D-7 and D-8
Quadrangle Maps. the Route Is Approximately 12 Miles Long.
Ii. Historic Documentation
The Houston - Willow Creek Trail Is A Historic Route Which Was
Used By Miners for Transporting Winter Freight From the Alaska
Railroad To the Bullion and Lucky Shot Mines in the Willow Creek
Mining District. the Trail Is Shown in the 1973 Department of
Transportation and Public Facilities Trails Inventory On Map 69
(Anchorage Quadrangle).

Alaska Road Commission (Arc) Annual Reports:
1) 1923; $940.32 Was Spent On Construction and Maintenance;
2) 1926; $249.00 Was Spent On Maintenance;
